Berk's has been an icon in Santa Monica for over 55 years, serving the people in the surrounding area with the finest in outdoor furniture and service.

The current ownership, Carls Patio West, purchased the Santa Monica Boulevard location in 2005. Chuck and Herb Horowitz had been providing patio furniture to the stars for decades before retiring in their early 70's. The Horowitz's and Berk's have been a part of Santa Monica history and one of the earliest retailers of quality outdoor furniture in the area. They were very involved with the manufacturers and instrumental in creating design and color trends in their market.

Since the takeover by Carls Patio West, considered one of a very small group of the very best patio retailers in the nation, the storefront has undergone a makeover, with signature awnings that point they way to this long time landmark. In 2008, a new Berk's was launched in Agoura Hills to broaden the reach of this market leader. The patio furniture customers in this market now have the price advantage of the buying power that can only be available from one of the largest retail patio groups in the world.
